Churches Fire & Security is proud to be an authorised distributor of products from Ansul, industry leaders since 1939.

With many hotel fires starting in the kitchen, it’s vital to ensure that your business is protected with the correct fire suppression system, also known as kitchen suppression. Ansul’s sophisticated suppression is at the forefront of the industry, providing a fully reliable system that uses technology to quickly detect a fire.

WHAT IS FIRE SUPPRESSION?

A fire suppression system overpowers a fire through the releasing of an agent to cool the fire, lessen the chemical reaction in the atmosphere or reduce the oxygen present.

When a fire has been detected, either manually (by a break glass call point) or by automatic means (smoke/heat detectors), a signal is sent to the suppression control panel and the agent is released.

This forms a layer of foam, instantly cutting the oxygen supply, suppressing and cooling the fire.

Fire suppression systems are installed in many industries across the UK, including restaurant kitchens, bakeries, factories and food manufacturers. Insurance companies recognise that these areas of a business present major risks of fire as flammable liquids, oils and ignition sources are often present.

HOW DO ANSUL SYSTEMS WORK?

With working kitchens using multiple sources of ignition at any one time, the risks are increased.

In Ansul systems, several nozzles are located under the cooking canopies able to quickly discharge the foam agent when a fire is detected. The foam agent cuts offs the supply of oxygen, thus putting out the fire. Fryers, grills, range tops, woks and other types of cooking equipment can also be protected.

The foam agent is not stored under pressure, meaning there are no large cylinder storage requirements. After the event of an activation, the system can be re-charged on site by a Churches Fire & Security technician, ensuring the kitchen or source of fire can be used again promptly.

Ansul systems are easy to use and highly effective in an emergency situation, working promptly to protect people, premises and equipment.
