Fire Safety Checklist

Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and British Standards, every fire system should be managed by a Responsible Person(s). This person is responsible for the monthly testing of the systems in place, and the management of the maintenance schedule carried out by a trusted fire alarm servicing company.

At Churches Fire & Security, we work in partnership with Responsible Persons to ensure they are supported in their fire safety and security service maintenance. This involves using a comprehensive fire safety plan with frequent plans in place. Through the careful planning, testing and conservation of Fire Extinguishers, Emergency Lighting, Fire Alarms, CCTV, Intruder Alarms, Access Control, Sprinklers and their associated pumps, control valves and tanks, the risk of a fire breaking out, or unauthorised access, can be reduced.

Self-Assessment Checklists

As part of our ongoing commitment to provide our customers with the best in fire safety and security, we have created a number of checklists to carry out assessments of their own sites.

Easily downloaded, each checklist provides guidance on which parts of the fire and security systems to inspect on a weekly and monthly basis.

Whilst the Responsible Person must check their provisions regularly, it’s important to note that regular servicing and maintenance must be carried out by a competent Churches technician.

Fire Extinguishers

In-depth Fire Extinguisher checks must be carried out by technicians as required by BS 5306, however visual inspections across the business must be completed regularly.

Emergency Lighting

All Emergency Lighting systems should be tested monthly. When placed into test mode, the system will simulate the power being cut to the premises and the system should illuminate as expected.

At Churches Fire & Security, we are experts in business fire and security protection, helping our customers to keep their property, assets and personnel safe from the threat of fire and theft.
