Fire Risk Assessments (FRA)
At Churches Fire & Security we provide professional, practical Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) that give you a clear understanding of fire risks in your premises and the actions needed to control them. Our FRAs are carried out by experienced, accredited assessors and supported by FCS Live – a specialist compliance team within the Churches Group.
Fire Risk Assessment
Need some help?
Fire Risk Assessments are a legal requirement according to the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, and this responsibility usually lies with the employer or landlord.
We can help you fulfil this obligation and keep you fully compliant.

What does a Fire Risk Assessment involve?
A fire risk assessment involves considering the risk of a fire breaking out in the building, and the possible effects on the people inside.
This risk should be reduced to as low as possible by ensuring there are suitable means for detecting a fire and sufficient systems for tackling and containing the fire.
Emergency escape routes and safety signs should be provided and measures taken to ensure routes remain clear.
Once a fire risk assessment is in place, the Chief Fire Officers’ Association suggest annual reviews to be good practice in order to keep the fire risk assessment up-to-date.
Why a Fire Risk Assessment matters
- It’s a legal requirement under The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 for most non-domestic premises.
- Identifies hazards and people at risk, helping you prioritise sensible, cost-effective measures.
- Reduces the chance of fire-related harm, business interruption and compliance breaches.
- Provides documented evidence you can show to auditors, insurers and enforcement authorities.
Why choose Churches Fire & Security + FCS Live?
- In-house technical expertise – our assessors are trained in fire safety, building use and relevant legislation.
- Integrated service – where remedial works are required (alarms, emergency lighting, extinguishers, sprinklers, suppression or detection), we can deliver end-to-end solutions in-house.

Frequently Asked Risk Assessment Questions
How often should an FRA be reviewed?
We recommend a formal review at least every 12 months or sooner if there’s a significant change in use, occupancy, or after an incident.
Can you help implement the recommendations?
Yes – Churches Fire & Security provides the full range of remedial works and preventative services, from alarms and emergency lighting to sprinklers, suppression, training and monitoring.
